The Reverend Laura A. Gronberg
Laura is the 30th settled pastor of Second Congregational Church of Boxford, United Church of Christ.
Laura comes to Second Church with joy after serving as a chaplain at Wayside Hospice in Wayland, MA. Laura received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Religious Studies in 1994 from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. She received her Master’s of Divinity in May 2008 from Andover Newton Theological School where she was inducted into the Jonathan Edwards Honor Society.
Laura is married to Fred who is an Emergency Care Instructor, among his varied talents. Together, they have two children, Matthew and Rachel, who attend Masconomet Regional School. Laura has been a life-long member of the United Church of Christ, and is the daughter and sister of UCC clergy. Laura was an active member of the Wellesley Congregational Church in Wellesley, Massachusetts before coming to Second Church. It is with deep gratitude that she serves as pastor of our warm and welcoming community of faith.

Betsey grew up in Topsfield. After graduating from Masconomet, she received her AA from Northern Essex Community College and her BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Early Childhood Education. Up until her first child was born, she worked as lead teacher for a DSS child care facility in Lynn. A long time member of the Congregational Church of Topsfield, in 1993 she felt herself being called to do more for children's ministries. For 17 years Betsey served the Topsfield church in many capacities, starting with Director of Children's Ministries and finishing as Director of Youth Missions and Outreach. She was part of the team that created Joyful Noises Preschool and served as a volunteer President of the Board of Overseers for several years. Over the years Betsey has become a Certified Christian Educator through the United Church of Christ, she has earned certificates in Youth Ministry from the MACUCC, and the Institute of for Youth Ministry at the Princeton Theological Seminary. She earned the honor of Christian Educator of the Year from the MACUCC. In 2010, Betsey felt that she could better serve the Topsfield church as a volunteer. This enabled her to accept a foster child into her home. She adopted two children in 2015.
Betsey lives in Haverhill with her husband Jerry, her sons Anthony and Leo and her daughter Gina. Her daughter Stephanie lives in Haverhill and her son Joe lives with his wife in Connecticut. Betsey plays tennis, skis, and loves to spend time at her cottage in Maine.

Sandi has been the Music Director for Second Church since 1982. She grew up in Second Church and has been singing and playing the piano in our Sanctuary for as long as anyone can remember! Sandi has the ability to encourage even the shyest musician to participate and thrives in the challenge of working with members of our Congregation from ages 5 to 95. Our church music flourishes with her energy and enthusiasm!
In addition to Sandi's church responsibilities and cooking for Nason's Stone House Farm, she has a special interest in musical theater. Sandi is co-founder of moonlight productions, she accompanies productions for Masconomet Regional High School and Pentucket Regional High School and teaches privately from her historic property here in West Boxford.

Kimberly is a proud lifelong member of Second Congregational Church. As an active member of the church and the choir, you may hear her sing solos for various services or happy tunes over the hum of her vacuum.
In addition to her Sexton position Kimberly teaches music at Bellesini Academy in Lawrence, music and theater for Creative Arts in Reading, directs musical theater for Wide Eyes Theatre Company in West Boxford, and performs regularly at venues across the region. Kimberly is a proud member of the Nason's Stone House Farm family, where both she and her 16-year-old work in their bakery.
